12 Years Ago, Today

12 years, 23 films, and a whole lot of memories ago, Robert Downey Jr. put in the performance of his life bringing the genius/playboy/billionaire/philanthropist Tony Stark to life. Unfortunately, the best days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are likely behind us, and much of that is due to – SPOILER ALERT – Iron Man no longer being a part of it.  COVID-19 is just one of the many obstacles Marvel faces since the release of their epic conclusion to the “Infinity Saga”.  And although projects like the upcoming Loki series, Black Widow FINALLY getting her own movie, and some others that are definitely creating a buzz, nothing can replace what Robert Downey Jr. brought to the MCU. I simply wanted to draw a little more attention to a great movie and a great performance that changed film forever.  If RDJ messes this up – we don’t get The Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy…none of that would exist without the tremendous success of the initial Iron Man.  Who knows what kind of trash Hollywood would have come up with in place of this. And for that, we salute you. Check out the original trailer and tell me you don’t wanna go watch it right now. Iron Man is available on Disney+.
